The United Arab Emirates is actively participating in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meetings in Bahrain, focusing on enhancing regional industrial collaboration, supply chain resilience, and creating new investment opportunities. These discussions, taking place from October 6 to 8, are led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and are part of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs.
The primary goal of these meetings is to achieve deeper industrial integration among GCC nations, leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, and increasing private sector involvement in regional projects. The UAE is emphasizing the strategic importance of combining the industrial capabilities of GCC countries to develop more integrated regional value chains, thereby boosting the competitiveness of Gulf industries.
Held alongside the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026, the meetings also cover crucial topics like industrial financing, innovation, infrastructure, and enhancing supply chain resilience. The UAE is showcasing national products and industrial technologies at the event, aiming to foster cooperation in manufacturing, investment, technology, and supply chains. As part of these efforts, several memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed between UAE entities and GCC companies to expand industrial partnerships.
A significant highlight of the UAE’s industrial achievements is its export figures, which reached Dh260 billion in 2025, including Dh92 billion in medium- and high-technology industrial exports. The National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has played a pivotal role by redirecting over Dh473 billion into the UAE economy, supporting local companies and strengthening domestic supply chains.
The UAE’s active engagement in the Bahrain meetings underscores its broader ambition to build stronger industrial ties across the GCC. By focusing on advanced technology and regional integration, the UAE aims to develop a more competitive and cohesive industrial sector within the Gulf region.
