UAE Denounces Iran’s Actions Against Kuwait, Pledges Support to Gulf Allies

by admin477351

The United Arab Emirates has voiced strong condemnation of Iran’s recent missile and drone attacks on Kuwait, with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed labeling them as acts of terrorism. This denunciation came during a phone call with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Sabah, where both officials assessed the regional security landscape following the assaults.

Kuwaiti authorities have reported that their air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming missiles and drones, ensuring the safety of the nation’s residents and attributing reported explosions to these defensive actions. Sheikh Abdullah assured Kuwait of the UAE’s unwavering support and emphasized that the security of Kuwait is intrinsically linked to that of the UAE and the broader Gulf region.

This incident arises amid ongoing diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Iran, with U.S. officials noting progress in talks, although a final agreement has yet to be reached. Despite these diplomatic efforts, tensions remain high, particularly concerning maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping lane. Iran has criticized recent U.S. statements about shipping activities in the area, describing them as unlawful and contrary to international norms.

The UAE’s declaration of solidarity with Kuwait reflects broader regional apprehensions about stability and security in the Gulf as military tensions persist. Diplomatic initiatives continue to unfold in parallel with these heightened security concerns, underscoring the region’s complex dynamics.
