UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Albanian President Bajram Begaj in Abu Dhabi to discuss enhancing bilateral relations between their countries. During the meeting, both leaders focused on expanding cooperation in various key sectors, including trade, the economy, renewable energy, technology, and infrastructure.
The discussions aimed at bolstering shared interests and supporting economic development in both the UAE and Albania. In recognition of the UAE’s efforts to strengthen these ties, President Begaj awarded Sheikh Mohamed with the Grand Star of the Supreme Order of the Eagle, Albania’s highest state honor.
Ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference, which the UAE is set to host in December, the leaders also addressed the importance of international collaboration on sustainability and tackling global water-related issues. This upcoming conference will be a significant platform for addressing these challenges.
In addition to bilateral and environmental topics, regional and international developments were on the agenda. Both leaders underscored the importance of cooperation to promote security, stability, and peace across the globe.
