The United Arab Emirates has decided to lift its travel ban on Lebanon, allowing Emirati citizens to visit the country once again. This decision comes after a period of restricted travel due to concerns over regional security. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stipulated that Emirati travelers must register through the Twajudi emergency assistance service before embarking on their journey. Until this registration is completed, citizens will not be permitted to pass through UAE border points.
The travel restrictions were originally put in place due to heightened regional tensions, impacting travel to multiple countries. Emiratis who were in Lebanon at the time of the ban were urged to return to the UAE and seek support from the authorities. The lifting of these restrictions has been welcomed by Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, who noted that this development reflects the strong bilateral relationship and could enhance cooperation and connections between the people of both nations.
This decision follows discussions aimed at improving ties between the UAE and Lebanon, with a focus on regional stability and security collaboration. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun have also engaged in talks regarding their shared interest in supporting peace initiatives and strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
The timing of the UAE’s decision coincides with Lebanon and Israel’s recent signing of a framework agreement designed to pave the way for peace, a move that has been positively received by regional partners involved in diplomatic efforts.
