The UAE Urban Search and Rescue team has once again distinguished itself on the global stage by retaining the “heavy” classification, the highest rating awarded by the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), affiliated with the United Nations. This marks the third consecutive time that the team from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has achieved this elite status, underscoring the United Arab Emirates’ dedication to excellence in disaster response and emergency preparedness.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended the team for their unparalleled professionalism, dedication, and operational readiness. He emphasized their capability to swiftly respond to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies, both within the UAE and internationally. The prestigious recognition was celebrated during a ceremony held at Qasr Al Bahr Palace, attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, along with various senior officials and guests.
